Piggie Mansion
So these are our five pigs and their cage. 28 sq. feet. Using C&C (Cube and coroplast) for the cage and fleece and towels for bedding except in the “basement” where we use a carefresh-type material. We started, in early June, with Vigo and Bert in St. Petersburg. Not long after we rescued Gabe, our youngest, just south of Port Canaveral. The last two, Skip and Milo, were adopted from a family who just had too many piggies and needed some help. The cage has gone through many renovations and overhauls, but this is by far our favorite. Having all boars, it’s been important to make it seem like more space than it actually is, so we’ve tried to split it up into several different sections so that they can get away from each other when they want to, but they have plenty of free space to run around and chase each other. So that’s the cage, the piggies, and the history. We’d love to hear any comments or suggestions about how we could provide a better life for our rescued piggies!
